The daily river cruise lasts 90 minutes. It’s a 1½‑hour journey along the Tagus River, giving you time to take in all the must‑see landmarks without taking up your entire day. You can book it for a morning or an afternoon departure.

What iconic landmarks will I see on the Must-See Wonders boat tour?

The Must‑See Wonders cruise takes you along Lisbon’s historic waterfront and past its most famous landmarks. You’ll see:

  • Belém Tower – a 16th‑century fortress guarding the mouth of the river.
  • Padrão dos Descobrimentos – the monument celebrating Portugal’s Age of Discoveries.
  • MAAT Museum – a striking contemporary building on the riverbank.
  • 25 de Abril Bridge – Lisbon’s iconic red suspension bridge.
  • Praça do Comércio and the statue of King José I – the grand riverside square and its equestrian statue.

The route follows the Tagus between Belém and the Alfama area, giving you unobstructed views of these must‑see sights.

Is this boat tour more focused on sightseeing or relaxation?

The daily Must‑See Wonders of Lisbon boat cruise strikes a balance between sightseeing and relaxation. It’s a relaxed 90‑minute tour that glides along the Tagus, showing you key monuments like Belém Tower, the Discoveries Monument, MAAT and the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Alfama neighbourhoods. At the same time, the modern eco‑conscious catamaran is spacious and stable, and the crew’s commentary is informal. You can take in the views at your own pace, sip a beverage and enjoy the fresh air. So while you see all the must‑see sights, the pace is deliberately unhurried, making it ideal if you want to combine gentle exploration with a moment of calm.

How is the daily river cruise different from the sunset boat tour?

The two tours share the same route but differ in timing, atmosphere and emphasis:

  • Daily River Cruise: This 90‑minute “Must‑See Wonders” sailing runs in the morning or afternoon. It’s designed for first‑time visitors who want a relaxed sightseeing experience; you sail past village-like Alfama which is one of Europe’s oldest neighborhoods, the Belém Tower, the Discoveries Monument, MAAT and other landmarks while listening to informal commentary and enjoying a drink. You can enjoy a complimentary glass of traditional Portuguese Port wine onboard and other drinks and beverages are available for purchase on board.
  • Sunset Boat Tour: Scheduled at golden hour, this 1½‑hour cruise focuses on the magic of Lisbon at dusk. As the sun sets, the city turns shades of orange, pink and gold. The vibe is more romantic and celebratory, with a welcome drink and music included. Seating is limited to keep the atmosphere intimate, making it especially popular with adults and couples.

In short, choose the daily river cruise if you want an informative, family‑friendly daytime tour; opt for the sunset cruise if you’d prefer an evening on the water with a more romantic feel and a toast to the end of your day.
